I thought I would really like this hairstyle since I had been so in love with the crown-braid but all day I couldn’t help but feel my childhood German sneak back and feel I was trying to be something I am not. Although this was easy, and it stayed put even from lying on the couch, playing with the kids, and cleaning the house. Yet….hmm
I am having an olive green kind of summer, I love olive green. It is classic, it is current, and it is as closed to military inspired as I want to get. And who doesn’t like a gold sparkly skirt? Thea thought it was the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world which I had sort of guessed, after all it was gold and sparkly…She is a girl’s girl through and through.
A child’s birthday in the park calls for comfort and cuteness all rolled into one. I had never done a crown braid before and beside getting tired arms
this has to be one of my new favorite things to do with my hair. Imagine that; not doing a top not every single day, in fact even B thought it was cute so it appears to have passed inspection.
And yes, the top is new from Zara and their incredible sale. The best part of it is that it reminds me of my friend Angela in NYC who I got to go shopping with.
And the shirt in action with my favorite little boy, Oskar
There are days I try and days where it just needs to work, this day it just needed to work as we spent a Saturday going to the park, going to the store, and just relishing in the fact that it was Saturday and we truly did not have much we actually had to do. Sadly the sun shone so bright that you cannot see i am wearing a striped button-down, I had never worn it with jean shorts, no idea why not, and yet I loved it so very much.
This is a complete cheat outfit as it is an exact reproduction of the outfit I wore on one of my nights in NYC. However, I did not take any blog pictures in NYC since the weather was about 200 degrees (or so it felt) and I did not bring a tripod. So why not just recreate it under non-extremely-sweaty circumstances. As for the pouty child next to me; Thea has decided that she never wants to put up her hair again, ever. SO if I can at least get a comb through it I am more than thrilled. She also decided that this particular photo op was a great way to introduce the world to her new monkey courtesy of morfar Joergen. So world, meet monkey.
Although I went to Old Navy solely to get clothes for the kids during their one day sale, when i saw this dress I knew it had to be mine. While it will be too short for school for summer days of running around and just not wanting to look like I am running around, this is perfect.
Only draw back is the permanent belt because i like to be able to change the style of things, but for as little as I pad, I guess I will just have to suck it up.
There is something about a white short that beckons me to put on oive green and brown, I don’t know what it is. But it just works and you end up looking so pulled together, even if you are sitting in a reading workshop class all day. And that’s exactly what I did.
My summer uniform is always shorts so it is hard to look rather stylish when I am running after 3 crazy children. The twins are cruising and opening every possible thing they can open. Once they have opened something they then pull everything out of it, when they are satisfied it is empty, they move on to the next target. Thea is outside showing me caterpillars, wanting to go on picnics, or splashing in our pool. I am surprised I wear make up most days, but this is what I love; summer at its best.
